What can you tell us about yourselves and your company?
My name is Morris Bouman and have owned and operated Bouman Property Maintenance in Nanoose for the last 10 years. Oceanside Home Check is a sister company to Bouman Property Maintenance and had been in opperation for over 3 years. My wife and I started this service because we realize that there is a need in this community with so many snowbirds heading away in the off season. People often do not want to burden neighbours or friends with the task of checking in on their homes. Many people I have talked to are thrilled to hear such a service exists in their community. My wife and I love spending time in the Oceanside area and raising our three girls in Nanoose Bay. I enjoy volunteering for both the Nanoose Fire Department as well as Arrowsmith Search and Rescue. As well as helping out with this company, my wife Catherine also works part time as a registered nurse for the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
Elliot Russel has recently joined our team. We realized that we wanted to go on vacation ourselves once in a while so hiring Elliot has allowed us to do this. Elliot and his family have recently moved from Edmonton where he worked both as a Corrections Officer and for the Sherrifs Department. Elliot is also is a fire fighter with Nanoose Fire Department.
